  • ABOUT PERMACULTURE PARTY CLUB

    Hi! We are a fresh club on the scene, established around Earth Day of 2023. We are currently two kids from highschool in Costa Rica, our amazing mentor, and parents and we have a lot of interest from our local community. We believe this is the future and we want to be trained to train others someday.

     

    Permaculture is about designing a lifestyle that is in harmony with Nature and which includes coming back to an understanding of how to live off the land for food and health. We are both a local club for people to come learn with us 1-2x a month at Green Wave House (part of Rancho Delicioso eco-intentional community) but also an online club to inspire people wherever they reside in this world. Although we work and live in a tropical region, the concepts behind permaculture are the same and can be applied anywhere. Journey with us and have fun with permaculture as you learn how to cultivate a deeper relationship with Nature, and maybe your own food! This is the future and it can also be your NOW.

     

    A little about our club:

    Hands-on Learning

    Thanks to the Green Wave House, we have an office and living labratory food forest to work with. If you are a local member, you are invited to come learn about permaculture hands-on. Education and tools are provided! Music is always on. Each session allows for questions, idea sharing, and often some food or beverage from "the farm".

    Recipes

    As our mentor tells us "it's all about perennials". Some of the perennials are not known in our current common/ local cuisine. So we believe by sharing recipes, we can inspire people to grow some of their own perennial species and become sustainably food secure.

    Observations

    Although we get our hands dirty, a lot of permaculture is about observations that help us connect with Nature so that Nature can teach us directly. Expect tours and meditations when you come for our sessions. These lessons are supposed to carry over into practical applications in our daily lives.

    Stress Relief from trees, farming and fun

    We hear that adults get stressed. We believe that working outside (a connection with Nature) helps people feel balanced. Have you heard of forest bathing? We also know that people live longer in Blue Zones. One of the reasons why is that they often feel a sense of purpose. Reconnecting with Nature can maybe do that for you too. We like it. Try it for yourself!

    Our goal is to have money to cover the costs of tools, food we might supply our events, bringing in other mentor-speakers to educate our club and community, AND helping us have extra money to fund not just our education but the scholarship fund at our school, Futuro Verde.
